Flock wins CLMP’s 2018 Firecracker Award: Best Debut!

“Since its relaunch in 2016, Flock Literary Journal is pushing boundaries in our literary culture by publishing a diversity of writers of creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry that present bold and engaging works that connect with a wide-reading, ever-changing reading audience. Its eye-catching and funky visuals and layout add to the magazine’s experimental format. The fact that it is an independent, entirely volunteer-run journal that features established writers as well as newly discovered voices is highly worth noting. We’re delighted to honor Flock as winner of this year’s the Best Debut Award in the magazine category.” Judges: Clarence V. Reynolds, Jodee Stanley, Craig Morgan Teicher

We are humbled and overjoyed to have been selected as CLMP’s 2018 Firecracker Award winner for Best Debut Journal! We are so grateful to the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses, the award’s first readers, final judges, our Flock community members and contributors. We promise to continue to work hard to be a publication worthy of this honor. To celebrate the issues that brought the award home, for the weekend of June 9 & 10, 2018, we are offering 20% off print copies, as well as an opportunity to peruse their beautiful contents online for free.

If you miss the weekend special, online audio features can be found at our webpages for Flock 18 and Flock 19.
