We were saddened to hear of the passing of author Marianne Langner Zeitlin on June 4, 2016.
Zietlin was author of three books, Mira’s Passage, Next of Kin, and Motherless Child. A fourth book,Third Star, will be published posthumously. Obituaries can be read from the Democrat and Chronicle and Las Cruces Sun News.
It was our great fortune to publish Zeitlin’s remarkable work, “The Desecration of the Sabbath,” in our 11th issue. In memory of Zeitlin and in celebration of the gifts of literature she has left behind for us, we republish the story in full for readers (link below).
